MANDATORY EQUIPMENT

The list of items here below is mandatory for competitors

 Helmet

Back protector

Avalanche transceiver (up to date with new batteries)

Mountain backpack with shovel and probe. 

If you are missing any of these items you cannot compete.  

If you’re missing one or more of those items, we recommend you get in touch with your friends or other people at the festival to borrow it.

THE JUDGING

COMPETITORS seen on the riding venue prior to the race, on competition day will be disqualified

Five criteria and “the overall impression” are taken into account to determine the riders’ final score, they are:

Difficulty of Line

 Control

Fluidity

Jumps

Technique

HOW TO GET TO SIGLO FREERIDE

We recommend all competitors to be in Siglufjörður no later then Thursday the 26th. 

In the evening of the 26th you will be able to settle in to your accommodations and get ready for Friday competition.

Siglo Freeride offers discounted competitors accommodation over the weekend at Hóll. 

Simple but roomy, really cozy and you can cook and store food in cooler. Big kitchen and tables. Sleeping is upstairs, dorm style with no linen so people come with sleeping bag or own linen.

Three nights, Thursday-Sunday for 12.000ISK.

Additional nights at Hóll are available the week prior to the competition and the Sun-Mon night after the weekend. 4.000ISK per extra night.

Siglufjörður is a small fishing town located in the further northern part of the Troll Peninsula. 

It is about 5h00 driving from Reykjavík

The ski resort is about 2.5 kilometers from “downtown” Siglufjörður.

Parking is limited and carpooling is mandatory. 

Depending on traffic and upon further recommendation from the ski area manager, a shuttle may be offered for athletes.
